In the Hall of Regret of the Aldani Shrine the party learned the history of the Aldani people, and Lorsa Rygor broke and was dragged into the final chamber as a hostile vessel. There the Hungerer devoured her, and the party shattered his physical form. Beneath his throne they found a hidden treasure room, where the loot was worn by statues in the likeness of the party members. They left the shrine and began the trek back to Camp Vengeance.

The Hall of Regret
The party is in the Hall of Regret, approaching the inner sanctum, and Lorsa Rygor is on the brink of total possession. It is midnight on the thirtieth of Kythorn, 1492 DR.
As they traverse the hall, the party learns the full tragic history of the Aldani people: their fall into greed, their rejection of Ubtao, and their eventual enslavement by the Hungerer.
The necrotic pressure finally shatters Lorsa. She lashes out at Wulf Rygor, and her voice is replaced by the Hungerer’s rasp. She is dragged into the final chamber as a hostile vessel, no longer an ally.
The Chamber of Final Judgment
The party enters the massive circular chamber where the Hungerer waits on a throne of bone and coral. In a horrific display of dominance, the Hungerer does not release Lorsa. He devours her. Her body is liquefied and absorbed into him to fuel his manifestation. Wulf screams in horror.
The Hungerer proves formidable. He uses illusions to mask his true location and controls the water to separate the party. Through coordinated attacks, the party shatters his physical form. As he dies, his voice whispers, “Mezro shall keep me safe… as it always has.”
The treasure room
Beneath the Hungerer’s throne the party finds a hidden treasure room. The loot is not in chests. It is adorned upon statues built in the exact likeness of the party members. The implication is that the Hungerer, or his master, has been watching them for a long time.
The loot is distributed as follows. Glade receives the Ring of Spell Turning and the Wand of the Blackthorn Forest. Taenae receives the Crown of Verdant Soul and the Fang of the Primal Hunt. Takhesis receives the Crown of the Unbroken and the Bracer of the Final Lesson. Vogal receives the Morningstar of the Kneecapper. Vonara receives the Blazer of Benevolence and the Anstruth Harp.
Departure
The party travels out of the shrine and leaves the darkness behind. They begin the trek back to Camp Vengeance to deliver the devastating news to Commander Breakbone.
Aftermath
- Lorsa Rygor was dead, consumed by the Hungerer.
- Wulf Rygor was broken and in a state of shock.
- The Hungerer’s physical form was shattered.
- Each of the party took the items worn by the statue in their likeness.
