Lord Cedric Montclair was a nobleman of Port Nyanzaru who called himself the “12th Richest Man in Port Nyanzaru.” He sneered at Vonara before the Cultural Unity Gala and was humiliated at it by the merchant prince Ekene-Afa.12
Personality
Montclair was pompous and insufferable, and measured others by their invitations and their dress.12
History
On the twenty-second of Flamerule, 1492 DR, the day before the gala, Vonara landed her broom outside Wakanga’s Villa and spoke with him. He told her that he was the “12th Richest Man in Port Nyanzaru” and sneered at her for having no invitation to the gala. Couriers brought every member of the party an invitation shortly afterward, and the party ordered new outfits at the clothier SURE, perhaps to spite him.1
At the gala on the evening of the twenty-third he intercepted Vonara and mocked her presence and her attire. Ekene-Afa came up and touched his wine goblet, and the wine boiled at once into blood and ash, a warning that his wealth meant nothing to the jungle.2 What became of him afterward is not recorded.
