On the day before the Cultural Unity Gala, Tyde Caller of Sorceries’ Sundries told Glade that the party’s findings on the Aldani were accurate history and advised the party to seek out Mezro. Vonara scouted Wakanga’s Villa and met Lord Cedric Montclair, who sneered at her for having no invitation, and shortly afterward couriers brought each member of the party a gilded invitation to the gala. Taenae rejoined the party, they ordered outfits at the clothier SURE, and Vogal and Takhesis gathered intelligence at the Grand Colosseum before all of them retired at The Dead Fish.

Recap

The Souk and the sorceress

The party is in the Grand Souk of Port Nyanzaru. It is the twenty-second of Flamerule, 1492 DR, the day before the gala.

Vogal returns to the party in the Souk and updates Takhesis on the schedule for his duel against Tharn, which is set for the twenty-fifth of Flamerule.

Glade visits Sorceries’ Sundries and speaks with the proprietor, Tyde Caller. They bond over a shared reverence for nature, Glade for the forest and Tyde for the sea. Tyde confirms that the party’s findings regarding the Aldani are accurate history, not myth. She explicitly advises them to seek out Mezro for answers regarding the curse.

The pompous man and the invitation

Vonara takes to her broom to investigate Wakanga’s Villa and notes heavy servant traffic. She lands to speak with a nobleman, Lord Cedric Montclair. Cedric claims to be the “12th Richest Man in Port Nyanzaru.” He is insufferable and sneers at Vonara’s lack of an invitation to the upcoming gala.

Shortly after, couriers track down each member of the party. They deliver gilded invitations to the Cultural Unity Gala, on the twenty-third of Flamerule at seven in the evening. The invitations include clothing tailored to imply that the party is related to or sponsored by the Merchant Princes.

Taenae’s return

Taenae wakes up at The Dead Fish and devours a “most generous special” to cure her hangover. She attempts to enter the merchant prince’s villa alone but is turned away by the guards. She eventually tracks the party down outside the Grand Souk and rejoins the group.

Dressed to kill

Realizing the gravity of the gala, and perhaps to spite Lord Cedric, the party decides that it needs better attire. They visit SURE, an upscale clothier near the Souk. Taenae, Vogal, Takhesis, Vonara and Glade order custom, high-end outfits for the event.

Inete is not with them. She has gone to the Temple of Savras to speak with her grandfather.

Intelligence and rest

Vogal and Takhesis go to the Grand Colosseum to gather intelligence on Tharn and the fighting pits. Glade, Vonara and Taenae return to The Dead Fish. The party reconvenes at the tavern for a hearty meal and light conversation before retiring to their rooms.

Aftermath

  • Each member of the party held an invitation to the Cultural Unity Gala, and custom outfits were on order at SURE.
  • Tyde Caller had confirmed Mezro as a lead.
  • Tharn Bloodfist was Vogal’s opponent in the duel set for the twenty-fifth of Flamerule.
