At the word of Jessamine, the party tracked Goldtooth, a Yuan-ti lieutenant, to a dilapidated warehouse in the Harbor Ward, burst in through a rotten wall and overwhelmed him and his minions. They gave his ledger to Jessamine and kept a trapped chest, an iron flask, gems, coin and a potion. Afterward Vogal bought gifts for Vonara and Glade, Ricardo called on Taenae at The Dead Fish with gifts of his own, and Inete began to copy a spell.
Recap
The hit job
It is the afternoon of the twenty-sixth of Flamerule, 1492 DR. The party is in Port Nyanzaru. Jessamine is re-establishing her network, and the party means to assist her in clearing out Yuan-ti interlopers to secure the loyalty of the Zhentarim.
Jessamine contacts the party with a specific target: Goldtooth, a Yuan-ti lieutenant operating in the Harbor Ward. She offers them the job of eliminating him, to disrupt the Yuan-ti supply lines.
The party tracks Goldtooth to a dilapidated warehouse. Rather than use the door, they choose to burst through a rotten wall, which catches the occupants off guard.
A chaotic skirmish follows inside the warehouse. The party uses the element of surprise to overwhelm Goldtooth and his minions. The party is victorious, and Goldtooth is dead. The structure of the warehouse takes major damage.
The spoils
The party secures Goldtooth’s ledger, which holds detailed business records of the Yuan-ti operations. It is handed over to Jessamine to aid her takeover.
Taenae claims a chest that contains a snake trap, magical or mechanical. It appears to be bound to Taenae by blood, and it functions as a loyal but dangerous storage unit.
There is also an iron flask, an empty iron vessel. Inete identifies it as having the capacity to capture and hold creatures.
The rest of the spoils are gems worth 1,000 gold pieces, 350 gold pieces in coin and a potion of healing.
Gifts and suitors
Vogal buys gifts for Vonara and Glade, to thank them for their magical and moral support during his duel against Tharn. He remains unaware of the extent of their help, but appreciates the result.
Ricardo visits The Dead Fish seeking Taenae. He presents her with a fine cloak and shirt. He takes his leave politely, and quickly, before the interaction can escalate to the bedroom, which leaves Taenae with the gifts but not the company.
Arcane study
Inete begins the process of copying the spell blink into her ritual book, her archive. She spends one hour on it, a quarter of the work.
