The party awoke at Ataaz Muhahah in Chult, alive but changed, and Taban gave them a farewell and left them. They felt a pull toward the Sunken Temple near Port Nyanzaru but went first to Kir Sabal, where Asharra said she could perform the Dance of the Seven Winds and required a black orchid from Nangalore. Glade then activated a teleportation circle in the monastery, and the party was carried toward the Aldani Basin.

Recap

The awakening

The party gasps awake back in Chult, at Ataaz Muhahah, in the exact place from which they were taken. They are alive, but changed. It is early in the morning of the thirtieth of Kythorn, 1492 DR.

Taban’s farewell

Taban appears, seemingly aware of the dream trial. His message is “The blood has been spilled. The curse has been laid.” Vogal tries to speak to him, but Taban is distant and fades into the jungle like a ghost. This farewell is his departure from the party. He shadows them as far as Kir Sabal and then makes his own way to the Sunken Temple.

The pull

The group identifies a psychic tug toward a location near Port Nyanzaru, the Sunken Temple, but chooses to put its previous goal first. The destination is Kir Sabal.

The climb

The party carefully makes the climb of 500 feet to the monastery. Nephyr, the Aarakocra whom the party freed on Firefinger, greets them enthusiastically and vouches for them to the flock.

Asharra and the princess

Asharra welcomes the party. She confirms that she can perform the Dance of the Seven Winds, which grants flight, but she requires a black orchid from the dangerous ruins of Nangalore.

The party learns of Princess Mwaxanaré, the hidden heir to Omu, who is living as a ward of the Aarakocra.

Taenae leaves the hadrosaurus Gooye with the Aarakocra, who will watch over him. She is worried about taking him into danger.

The teleportation circle

While speaking with Asharra, the party notices a dormant teleportation circle within the monastery. Glade convinces Asharra that he understands its workings, and he does. To prove his claim he activates the circle. The party is teleported toward the Aldani Basin, or to a known circle nearby, and skips days of jungle travel.

Aftermath

  • Taban left the party.
  • The party had information on the black orchid that Asharra required.
