At the Temple of Savras the sick soldiers were stabilized and Grandfather Zitembe confirmed that the Soulmonger was the artifact causing the Death Curse. Taenae offended Inete with the gift of a holy symbol. The party then traveled toward Firefinger, lost its canoe in rapids on the Tiryki River, was ambushed by su-monsters and discovered a dead beholder.

The Temple of Savras
The sick soldiers, whom the party had escorted from Camp Vengeance to Port Nyanzaru, are stabilized at the Temple of Savras. Inete warmly welcomes the party back and even hugs Taenae. Grandfather Zitembe confirms that the Soulmonger, a crafted necrotic artifact, is the specific artifact causing the curse.
Shopping
Vogal demonstrates his jump height; whether for intimidation or for flair is not recorded. Vonara secures rations and holy items. Taenae returns to give Inete a holy symbol but has forgotten Inete’s deity. Inete snatches the amulet, offended, and tells them to leave.
The Tiryki River
The party travels toward Firefinger. While they navigate the tumultuous rapids on the Tiryki River, Glade casts earth tremor in an attempt to stabilize the boat and solve a navigation problem. The canoe is destroyed. Glade and Vonara fall in, and Taenae, in the form of a giant octopus, saves them. Takhesis Calva flies to safety carrying Vogal.
The su-monsters
Su-monsters, psychic monkeys, ambush the party. Vonara and Glade nearly die. They are saved by Vogal and Takhesis Calva, and by Taenae, who takes the form of a brown bear.
The dead beholder
The party discovers a dead beholder being eaten by vultures. Vonara scares the vultures off. Vogal spots a trail but decides not to follow it. The date is the seventh of Kythorn, 1492 DR.
Aftermath
- Inete was offended. Taenae’s forgetfulness about her faith was a major faux pas. Inete returned to her place in the Temple of Savras.
- Azaka Stormfang was impatient. Watching the party blow up their own boat had raised questions about their competence.
- Lost: the canoe.
