The Folding Boat was a wooden box that unfolded into a boat or a ship at a command word. The party took it from the hoard at the top of Firefinger.1
Description
Folded, it was a wooden box about a foot long and half as wide and deep, heavy for its size. It unfolded into either of two vessels: a boat ten feet long with a single pair of oars, or a ship twenty-four feet long with a deck, a mast and sail, rowing seats, oars, a steering oar and an anchor. The wood was etched with Aarakocra symbols for “Wind” and “Safe Passage.”
Powers
One command word unfolded the box into the boat, a second into the ship, and a third folded it back into a box, which worked only when no one was aboard.
History
The party took the Folding Boat from the hoard at the top of Firefinger on the twenty-eighth of Kythorn, 1492 DR, after defeating the Pterafolk there.1 It replaced the canoe that had been destroyed on the Tiryki River on the seventh.2 The party used it from then on whenever it traveled by river.
