A Bag of Holding was a bag whose inside was far larger than its outside. Every member of the party carried one, and the party found another on Firefinger.1
Description
The bag was about two feet across at the mouth and four feet deep, and weighed the same whatever was put into it.
Powers
The bag held far more than its size allowed. If it was overloaded, pierced or torn it burst and was destroyed, and its contents were scattered in the Astral Plane. Turned inside out, it spilled its contents unharmed and had to be put right before it could be used again. A breathing creature could survive inside it only for some minutes. If the bag was placed inside another space of the same kind, both were destroyed and a gate opened to the Astral Plane, which pulled in anything nearby and then closed for good.
History
The party took a Bag of Holding from the hoard at the top of Firefinger on the twenty-eighth of Kythorn, 1492 DR.1

Behind the screen
Every player character began the campaign with a Bag of Holding, a gift from Patrick, the Dungeon Master. Others were handed out when one was rolled at random.
