Takhesis Calva and Vogal caught up with the party on Firefinger, and the climb went on. In the third cave Fenro Silver burned the elder Pterafolk, and the party freed a bound Aarakocra named Nephyr, who urged them to travel to Kir Sabal. At the top of the spire they defeated Nrak and his minions and rested, and they came away with coin, art objects and three magic items.
Recap
The reunion
Takhesis Calva and Vogal, who had lagged behind or scouted, catch up with the main group on the spire.
The earth bridge
The party faces a massive gap in the path. Glade uses mold earth to fashion a precarious bridge of rope and dirt. He almost falls to his death but is saved by the safety rope.
The third cave
The party encounters the elder Pterafolk. Fenro Silver unleashes a spell resembling “napalm” and incinerates the elders. The sight of the burning corpses seems to give him grim inspiration for a painting. Vonara pockets a carved Human femur that is found in the nest.
Nephyr
In the third cave the party finds a bound Aarakocra named Nephyr and rescues him. Nephyr urges the party to travel to Kir Sabal. He claims that its leader, Asharra, can perform the Dance of the Seven Winds, which would grant the party magical flight.
The pinnacle
The party reaches the top deck and engages Nrak and his minions. The victory is decisive. The Pterafolk are slaughtered. The party rests atop the spire, overlooking the jungle canopy.
These events fall on the twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth of Kythorn, 1492 DR.
Aftermath
- Nephyr was an ally. He owed the party his life and was returning to Kir Sabal to spread word of their heroics.
